  Our Alkalizing (EAGLE) Filtration Process is designed to provide superior water quality by removing contaminants and enhancing the water's mineral content and pH level.

  

  1. Pre-filtration:

  • 20” Sediment Cartridge: Water first flows through a 20-inch sediment cartridge, effectively removing larger particles such as sediment, silt, sand, and dirt.

  2. Post-filtration Carbon Block:

  • 20” Solid Carbon Cartridge: The water then passes through a 20-inch solid carbon cartridge, which removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs), along with any remaining insecticides, pesticides, and industrial solvents.

  3. Ultrafiltration (UF) Membrane:

  • 0.2-Micron UF Membrane: Water flows through a 20-inch ultrafiltration membrane, filtering out even finer particles.
  • Calcium Carbonate Media: The water then travels through a bed of calcium carbonate media, which alkalizes, ionizes, and remineralizes the water, raising its pH level.

Optional Add-Ons:

Water Softener (optional)

Water flows through an ion exchange resin and brine water conditioner. Water is softened or conditioned by replacing hard ions like calcium and magnesium with softer sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners must be regenerated** regularly, renewing their ability to remove hardness from water. Time-initiated or solid state softeners regenerate at a fixed time when their softening capacity is predicted to be low. Demand-initiated softeners regenerate automatically when they sense their capacity is low.

Salt-Free Anti-Scale Water Softener (optional)

Crystal Quest Saltless Water Softener is a new technology which transforms the calcium (hardness) of the water into mechanically stable and heat resistant calcite crystals (nanometer size) which no longer cause lime deposits. The calcium is simply rinsed away.

Calcium (hardness) creates scale in pipes, on appliances and other plumbing surfaces. This leads to higher heating and energy costs and expensive repairs to appliances. Scale can also be a source for bacteria to grow, which can be a health concern in drinking water applications. It also removes the already existing scale from pipes and heat exchanger surfaces (descaling effect) and further protects the system from the future formation of scale (scale protection effect).

When hardness levels appear at 25 gpg (grans per gallon) or higher pre-treatment or additional media may be required.  Please consult a specialist for this condition.

Oxidation System (Optional):

The Crystal Quest Water Oxidation Ozone System is as efficient and simple in function as it is in design. Once installed to your Whole House Water Filter, the unit requires no further attention and maintenance. The system is only actively producing ozone during wash cycles and the ozone will naturally dissipate upon completion. Water oxidation is natural a process that does not require the use of harsh chemicals, bleach, and detergents while offering more bacteria-killing power than liquid and powder laundry products.

Installation Guide for Crystal Quest High Flow Whole House Water Filter

Step 1: Turn off the main water shutoff valve.

Step 2:Open all plumbing fixtures fed by the filtration system, including all outside faucets, to drain the lines of all water.

Step 3:Cut and remove a section of the main incoming water line near where the system is to be installed. Allow this line to drain thoroughly.

Step 4:If copper piping is used and soldered, perform these procedures away from the valve. This ensures that you are not applying heat or pressure while soldering or tightening the adapters onto the bypass when they are mounted on the valve body itself.

Step 5: Solder a 3” to 5” piece of copper pipe into each of the two pipe adapters away from the valve, and let them cool before threading each one onto the yoke valve.

Step 6:Cut out a section of the main water supply line downstream from the supply shutoff at the position where the water filter is to be installed. Use a pipe cutter to cut the ends of the pipe. Sand the ends to ensure they are square and smooth.

Step 7:Check the plumbing inlet and outlet to ensure the proper flow of water through the unit. Match the plumbing inlet and outlet located on the sides of the valve head.

Step 8: Apply threaded seal tape onto the male adapters for the brass valve when cool and securely tighten them to the valve. This is done before reattaching them to the rear of the valve/meter body assembly.

Step 9:Turn on the water to the unit and check for leaks. Leave all faucets turned off and open a single faucet (such as an outside faucet), letting the water run for 3-5 minutes. This rinses the new resin/media inside the tank, and any particles or color will rinse out through the drain tube.
