The Fleck 2510 AiQ Air Injection Iron Filter removes up to 7 ppm iron and up to 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide ("rotten egg" odor) from well water, along with manganese, with no chemicals or feed pumps. It pairs the Pentair Fleck 2510 AIO valve with the new AiQ controller and Katalox Light media, and it replaces the discontinued 2510 SXT iron filter.
An air pocket at the top of the tank oxidizes dissolved iron and sulfur. Katalox Light then filters out the oxidized particles down to under 3 microns. A daily backwash flushes the captured iron to drain and refreshes the air pocket.
Warranty: 5 years on the Fleck 2510 AiQ valve head and 10 years on the tank. See the full Fleck 2510 AiQ spec sheet (PDF).
For hard water, install a water softener after the iron filter to remove calcium and magnesium.

It removes up to 7 ppm dissolved (ferrous) iron and up to 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide, the cause of the "rotten egg" smell. It also reduces manganese. Katalox Light also filters sediment, turbidity and color down to under 3 microns.
Katalox Light is a lightweight filter media with a 10% manganese dioxide coating. It catalyzes the oxidation of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide, then traps the particles. It needs no chemical regeneration, and it typically lasts 7–10 years.
Yes. Pentair has discontinued the 2510 SXT. The 2510 AiQ AIO valve replaces it, with a full-color display, USB-C programming and a modular powerhead.
An iron filter doesn't remove hardness. If your water is hard, install a water softener after the iron filter.
Once a day by default. Each backwash flushes captured iron to drain and draws in a fresh air pocket for the next day's oxidation.
Match the tank to your peak flow. The 10x54 handles up to about 4.4 GPM, the 12x52 about 6.3 GPM and the 13x54 about 7.4 GPM. Your well pump must also deliver the backwash rate: about 6.5, 9.4 and 11.1 GPM respectively.
It works from pH 5.8 to 10.5.
