3M Aqua-Pure AP900 series
The AP900 series is 3M's compact whole-house line: a single stainless-head housing that mounts inline on the main water line, with a quick-change cartridge that swaps without tools or a filter wrench. It reduces sediment and chlorine taste and odor for the whole home and is a common choice for city-water homes that don't need softening or iron treatment. Choose the housing by household size and pipe size, then match the cartridge to it.
| System | Replacement cartridge | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AP902 | AP917HD | Entry model in the series |
| AP903 | AP917HD | Most popular whole-house size |
| AP904 | AP917HD-S | Adds scale-inhibition media for water heaters and fixtures |
Systems are on the AP900 Series product page. Change the cartridge when flow drops or on the schedule in your manual; hard water, iron or bacteria are outside what a cartridge filter can handle — see water softeners, iron filters and UV systems for those.
