✅ Acquire and install a pressure regulator with your system.
Step-by-Step Installation Guide of NuvoH2O Home Duo Water Softener
-
- Verify that the water main is shut off.
- Use a stud finder to attach the mounting bracket to the studs in the wall.
- Remove the system from the package. Take out the filter and cartridge from the housing. Check inside the system for any loose foam, plastic, or packaging contents.
- Position the filter side of the head near the inlet pipe, then attach the head to the mounting bracket. Ensure the system is installed vertically with the blue head at the top. Do not invert the system.
- Install a pressure regulator (E) before the NuvoH20 system, setting it to 45-65 PSI. This protects the system from potential pressure spikes that could cause leaks.
- Install a bypass.
- Use flexible hoses to connect the inlet pipe to the inlet port on the system, and the outlet port of the system head to the outlet pipe. Not using flexible hoses may result in water leakage.
- Apply 3-4 wraps of Teflon tape to seal the connections.
- Lubricate the O-rings at the top of the housing sump with the included lubricant.
- Remove the protective plastic wrap from the cartridge and filters before inserting them back into the housing.
- Insert and seat the cartridge and filter into the sump. Ensure the small, round holes on the side of the water softening cartridge are at the top. Refer to the cartridge replacement instructions for more details.
- Carefully attach both sumps (with the cartridge and filter inside) to the head by rotating the collar clockwise. Secure with the provided wrench. Ensure the clear sump with the carbon filter is on the filter side of the head.
- Open the pressure release valve on top of the heads using a screwdriver (do not remove the valve, only loosen it).
- Open the first bypass valve (A) to allow the sump to fill with water. When water leaks from the pressure release valve at the top of the heads, tighten the valve to close (B).
- Close the first bypass valve (A) and let the cartridge sit in the housing without water flow for one hour. Open the main valve (C) to allow water to flow throughout the household while the cartridge sits.
- After one hour, close the top bypass.
