Crystal Quest Commercial Reverse Osmosis System, 500–7,000 GPD
A commercial reverse osmosis system built for restaurants, cafés, labs, car washes, greenhouses, breweries and small manufacturers that need hundreds to thousands of gallons of purified water every day. The Crystal Quest mid-flow line removes up to 99% of dissolved solids, arrives pre-plumbed, pre-wired and factory tested, and is sized in nine steps from 500 to 7,000 gallons per day so you buy the capacity you use.
Choose your size by daily demand (500 GPD ≈ 0.35 GPM of purified water; 7,000 GPD ≈ 4.9 GPM). Choose Standalone if you already have a storage tank and repressurization pump, or Add Storage Tank Kit (165, 220 or 550 gallon) for a complete system with tank, pump and float switches.

Which size does your business need?
Size by the purified water you use on your busiest day, then add 20–30% headroom. RO produces slowly and steadily into a storage tank, so peak demand is handled by the tank and repressurization pump rather than the RO unit itself. Your feed water also has to meet the unit's minimum flow (in the specification table below).

Pre-treatment is part of the system. Commercial RO membranes are rated for feed water up to 15 grains of hardness and 2,000 ppm TDS, with no iron, chlorine damage or heavy sediment. On hard water a commercial water softener ahead of the RO protects the membranes; on well water with iron or sulfur add an iron filter; on chlorinated municipal water a carbon filter. Replacement cartridges and membranes
Change sediment and carbon pre-filters when the pre-filter gauge shows a pressure drop (typically every 3–6 months on commercial duty) and membranes when permeate TDS or flow drops, usually every 2–3 years. Order by SKU below or from the replacement parts collection.

Installation and start-up
Before start-up
- Mount on a level floor so the unit can't vibrate or walk; use a rubber mat if needed.
- Check every plumbing and electrical connection for shipping damage or loosening.
- Connect feed to the 1″ FNPT solenoid inlet beside the filter housing, permeate to the 3/8″ outlet (no back-pressure; it damages membranes), and concentrate to the 3/8″ drain outlet with a free-running drain.
- Use plumbing compatible with low-pH water downstream: RO permeate runs 1–2 pH points below feed and is aggressive to copper.
- Wire the storage-tank level switch to the dry contacts in the control box; never apply power to those terminals.
Purge, then start
- Power off. Route permeate to drain, open the concentrate valve fully, close the recycle valve (if fitted), close the pump bypass valve, offset the white bypass lever on the solenoid, turn feed on and purge until no bubbles show in the concentrate flow meter.
- Open the pump bypass valve, return the solenoid lever, power on, and adjust the bypass, concentrate and recycle valves to design flow and pressure (never exceed the pressure vessels' rating).
- Run one hour, check for leaks, shut down, route permeate to the tank, restart.
- Log pressures, flows and TDS daily for the first week, then weekly. GPM = GPD ÷ 1,440 (a 2,500 GPD unit makes about 1.7 GPM at 77 °F).
